There are so many reasons to do a boudoir session : To fall in love with yourself, reclaiming your confidence, celebrating a big hurdle, a gift for someone or just for the hell of it! Boudoir should be a stress - free experience. But there are some things to consider before your session.
Before the session
If you plan on waxing do so about 5 days prior to your session so that your skin is not irritated in any way.
We do not recommend spray tanning before your session, you do not want to look orange and streaky on camera. Trust me on this one, you may think you don’t look orange but there are factors we keep in mind like the color of your outfits and lighting. These can affect your skin tone greatly if a spray tan clashes with them. But, be sure to keep hydrated and moisture your skin in the days leading up to your session.
Eyebrows! If you are going to wax or pluck, do so about 3 days prior.
Be mindful of the sun in the days before your session, harsh tan lines and extreme sunburns are near impossible to remove during the editing process.
We do not recommend getting any new piercings or tattoos prior, there is always a risk of infection and swelling. Especially if the healing process falls within the time frame of your session.
What to wear
First rule; avoid loose fitting items like babydolls, slips and teddys. If you’re wanting to look slimmer in images these loose fittings items will actually make you look more boxy. Opt for a form fitting bodysuit, these are always great for sessions. You can find them in any color, different cuts and materials.
Avoid crazy patterns; I know, that means no zebra, cheetah or animal prints. Instead go for simple, you can’t go wrong with earthy tones, pastels and even just black and white.
If you are doing a session as a gift for a significant other be sure to bring anything that you want to use of theirs in your session. For example, a favorite t-shirt, jersey, spicy props, a favorite book, a light saber even! If you are a bride be sure to bring your engagement ring, wedding shoes, veil and anything else you’d like.
Less is more! If you are comfortable towards the end of your session we do nude and implied nude sessions all the time! We are comfortable with it and have seen it all. Just be sure to mention you’d like too!

the day of your session
Make sure to wear loose clothing and go bra - less and panty - less if possible. This will ensure you don’t have pressure lines or marks when we start your session.
Eat lightly before your session, many people think it’s best to not eat at all. Do not do this, make sure you stay well hydrated as well. It will only benefit your skin and complexion even more.
Wear CLEAR deodorant - or be prepared for me to ask you to wipe the white chunks from under your arms all session long.
Please bring your own shade of foundation with you so HMUA can match you perfectly!
If you have added hair and makeup onto your session please arrive at the location with a fresh clean face and dry, clean hair free of product. If you are not receiving hair and makeup just show up in your loose fitting clothing with your hair and makeup ready to go! Please also bring your shade of foundation so they have your exact shade.
Please be ready to pay the balance of your session if you haven’t in the days prior upon arriving, if you’d like any products (listed on the last page) please have that fee ready to pay as well and even though it’s not required think about tipping your stylist, we will also have a form you can fill out regarding the privacy of your images.
After your session & Products
At the beginning of your session during hair and makeup or check in you will have the opportunity to add on products to your session balance. We will have examples the day of for you to physically see. You will receive a password protected gallery via email of your edited images where you can download them, please keep in mind these are only available for 3 months before they are removed from the site to make room for new sessions.
